Narrative Stucture

• Opening shot - photograph fading to a picture
• Emily walks in to shot flicking through negatives - holding them up to the light
• She holds up particular negative up to the light and studies more carefully
• Carries negatives to enlarger
• Puts negatives in - pulling through machine - seeing images
• Close up of one photo - camera zooms and fades into that photograph
• Fades to flash back
• Emily taking pictures of buildings - Simon in the shadows
• Cutting to another shot of Emily taking pictures - again Simon is in the background of the shot (use of light and dark/tilt shots/shadows)
• Hear the click of the camera - freezes on image and then fades back to present time - photo hanging up on washing line
• Takes some photos to print dryer
• Walks back to washing line and stands back
• Close up of eyes - looking confused
• Camera pans across washing line - Emily realises Simon is in every shot

Characters

Name - Simon Moore
We initially choose Simon at random but after researching more into the name we found it had more meaning
Simon means 'to be heard' we thought we could use this as he wants attention and is always appearing in the photos. Wanting to be seen 'Moore'

Played by Oliver Williams

Name - Leyla Kismet
Leyla is actually the name of the girl who is playing Leyla but again research into the name. It means born at night which is a reference to the Darkroom and developing the photos in darkness.

For the Flash back the girl is taking photos of buildings. These are some of the ideas that we may you use in the thriller.

Lighting

Our Thriller has to different Locations one is in a dark room, in the present and the other out in the city, in the past (flashback)

We want to keep the lighitng in the darkroom dingy. We will use red lighting, which is already up allaround the dark room. For example in the last shot where Emily is hanging up the pictures and Simon is in the background, we want to use the red light as a spot light on her, and Simon in the shadows in the background. However we will have to test with the camera and may have to use extra lighting

In the flash back this will be filmed in black and white. We want to keep the lighting natural with the use of street lights. However it would look effective in the flash back if we were to use shadows. So this would involve having extra lighting to get this effect.
